When I make a call, Hoiio does not prompt me or takes a long time to prompt whether to use Hoiio for that call.
Check Main menu>Settings>Call settings to make sure that the correct rule has been set. If your device is running slowly with a lot of active applications, it may take some time for Hoiio to prompt you when a call is made. Exit other applications and try to make the call again.
Callback (Autodialer) and Call Through are not offered as one of the available call methods.
Check if a valid Singapore SIM card is inserted. Open your Connection Manager, check if 'Phone' is turned on and try to restart Hoiio. Also this feature is not available when you are roaming as it may incur high call charges.
What should I expect when I choose to make Hoiio call via Callback (Autodialer)?
You should receive an incoming call within 30 seconds. Hoiio will automatically pick up the incoming call and perform all the necessary to connect you to the destination number within 45 seconds. You may hear some prompts when the incoming call is picked up - just ignore them.
If you are using a bluetooth headset, Hoiio calls may still go through your device's earpiece instead of the bluetooth headset.
What should I expect when I choose to make Hoiio call via Call Through ?
Hoiio will automatically make an outgoing call to the Hoiio access number and perform all the necessary to connect you to the destination number within 30 seconds. You may hear some prompts during the process - just ignore them.
I am using Callback (Autodialer) or Call Through to make Hoiio calls. I hear the prompt "Please enter the country code ...", which repeats a few times and the call is not successfully connected. There is no error message.
Please reboot the phone, restart Hoiio and try to make the call again.
Also, some devices such as Palm Treo Pro may not support the necessary features to use Callback (Autodialer) or Callthrough. On these devices, please key in the destination number manually when you hear the prompt or try a different call method.
When I open my address book, I do not see 'Call using Hoiio' as one of the options.
This feature is only supported on selected devices.
Sending SMS
When I compose an SMS using my phone's SMS composer, I do not see 'Send using Hoiio' as one of the options.
This feature is only supported on selected devices. If you do not see a 'Send using Hoiio' option, you can still compose an SMS by choosing SMS from the Hoiio main menu.
When I compose an SMS using my phone's SMS composer, I see "***" or similiar characters in the right Options menu.
This is a known problem on certain phone models. Try to reboot your phone and re-install Hoiio.
Where can I find all failed Hoiio SMS?
By default, when a Hoiio SMS failed to be sent, Hoiio will prompt if you want to send the SMS via operator. Should you select 'No', the SMS will be placed in your SMS Drafts folder. You can change this behaviour by opening Main menu>Settings>SMS Settings
I see some messages labelled 'Hoiio (Pending)' (or similar) inside my SMS Drafts folder
'Hoiio (Pending)' indicates that the message is being sent via Hoiio and should not be accessed. When Hoiio finished sending the message, it will be moved to Sent Items (if sent successfully) or Drafts folder (if failed).
However, if you noticed an SMS labelled 'Hoiio (Pending)' in the SMS Drafts folder for a long time, there may be some problems sending that message via Hoiio. In these cases, please restart Hoiio.
I use Hoiio to send an SMS to a number in my address book. However, when I open the message copy in Sent Items, my messaging program only shows the contact number, and not the contact name.
Your phone's messaging program is not capable of displaying the contact name for SMS sent from external applications.
I received a message saying 'Your device does not seem to support SMS' when I launched Hoiio, or when I opened 'SMS' from Hoiio main menu
If you are using a Pocket PC, make sure it has phone radio hardware, e.g. capable of making calls and sending SMS. Not all Pocket PC's are equipped with phone radio hardware.
This message may also be displayed if your device firmware is in a language other than English or if you are using a third party messaging application.
