Where can I find the Hoiio application?

After you have successfully installed Hoiio, you can find the application in the Home screen or in the Downloads folder. You may move the application to other folders.

How do I know if Hoiio is running?

On your BlackBerry, press and hold the Menu button. The list of applications running on the phone is shown. If Hoiio is in the list, then Hoiio is already running.

After installing, it asked me to accept permission. What should I do?

Hoiio requires some permission from you in order for the application to work. Accept the changes to the permission, press back and Save.

When I try to run Hoiio, I click the Hoiio icon in Downloads folder, but nothing happens.

Press and hold the menu button to show the running applications. Similarly, you could go to Downloads, press menu > Switch Application. Look for a running application that says Module Permission. Click on it, and accept the permission requested for Hoiio app.

I could not download Hoiio from your WAP site.

If you encountered problem downloading from our WAP site at m.hoiio.com, you may try the alternative method of downloading the application to your PC.

What are the supported models?

To check your BlackBerry OS version, press Options > AboutHoiio is supported for BlackBerry models running on BlackBerry OS 4.2.1 and above. This includes BlackBerry Curve, Pearl, Bold, Storm and many others.

I encounter a "909 User Authentication" Error.

To resolve this, you need to open Internet Browser instead of WAP Browser (e.g. Starhub Gee browser, etc) and install Hoiio from the Internet Browser.

After installation, I see the Terms & Conditions. What do I do?

Read and scroll to the bottom of the Terms & Conditions. You should see 2 buttons - Accept and Decline. You have to press the Accept button to continue.

I cannot find the SMS I sent with Hoiio in the SMS log.

Hoiio does not support saving the SMS sent in the BlackBerry SMS log.

Why is Hoiio not running in full screen?

If you are running Hoiio v1.8.0 and below, and is using a BlackBerry running OS 4.7 and above (eg. Storm), Hoiio might not be running in fullscreen mode. Without running in fullscreen mode, a virtual keyboard will always be visible with the app and you have lesser functions from the menu.

To run in fullscreen mode, you can do the following:

  1. On you BlackBerry, go to Options > Advanced Options > Applications.
  2. Select Hoiio and press menu.
  3. Disable compatibility mode

When I run Hoiio app, it shows a "java.lang.error" message.

You need to accept the permission request when the app is installed. To edit the permission now, go to Options > Advanced > Application > HoiioBB. Press Menu > Edit Permissions and select Allow for each of the permissions.
